The Pedagogy undergraduate course offered at UNISC owns a curriculum focused on teaching, research and broad considerations on the education of children aged from 0 to 10 years old, as well as training professional to exercise other activities related to educational management. The course curriculum is divided in semesters and these are organized following a common topic: Fundamentals of Education and Management, Fundamentals in Educational Practices, Fundamentals in Educational Practices and Research, Teaching in Basic Education, Teaching Early Childhood, and Teaching Elementary Education. Each semester presents interdisciplinary seminars and workshops guided towards discussing different topics as gender and sexuality, ethical and racial relations, environmental education, job and education, meaningful materials, media and education. Moreover, students are encouraged to develop scientific reports and after class activities in the community.
The course prepares professionals to teach children from preschool to high school, as well as organizing and managing educational systems and in fields where educational knowledge is needed.
For this purpose, UNISC grants the students access to a special infrastructure that includes a learning lab, recreational labs, playroom, and dance room.
