The Biological Science teaching course offered at UNISC is based on a holistic and integrative biological approach. Professionals graduated in this undergraduate course are committed to improve environment and quality of life through research and acquiring new problem solving skills.
As biological science teachers, these professionals may teach Sciences in Elementary and Middle Schools, and Biology in Elementary, Middle and High Schools. They have a solid and wide biological knowledge and they are aware of their role as educators and their responsibility as social and environmental transformation agents. They become educators who can understand teaching practices focused on action-reflection-action methodologies, helping students to make their choices based on methodological values and tenets linked to democracy and respect to biodiversity.
